Michael Goh, senior vice president of StarCruises was quoted saying, “We are thrilled to introduce our ‘Global Celebrations at Sea’ thematic cruises, a one-of-a-kind voyage that goes beyond just travel—it’s an immersive sensory experience.”
He continued to state, “Each High Seas weekend cruise is an invitation to explore the world through its most celebrated cultures and cuisines. We’ve carefully crafted this experience to allow guests to not only savour international dishes but to live out an adventure of culture, cuisine, and discovery all on board the Star Navigator.”
These cruises are meticulously designed to provide a unique thematic experience, inviting travelers to explore the world through its most celebrated cultures and cuisines. In April, the series begins with a focus on Japan, offering a voyage that delves into Japanese traditions.

Guests can indulge in authentic Japanese cuisine, such as sushi and ramen, and enjoy cultural performances like Sakura Dances. Interactive activities include wagyu beef cooking demonstrations, cherry blossom tea parties, and workshops on origami and Ikebana flower arranging.
In May, the theme shifts to Korea, celebrating its rich cuisine and cultural heritage. Guests will have the opportunity to savor dishes like Bulgogi, Bibimbap, Kimchi, and Tteokbokki, while enjoying traditional drum performances, K-pop dance workshops, and hanbok-wearing experiences.
Each High Seas weekend cruise features themed performances, hands-on workshops, and exclusive culinary events, including BBQ nights under the stars on Saturdays, which highlight global flavors in a relaxed setting.

The “Global Celebrations at Sea” initiative is poised to make a significant impact on the cruise industry by offering a comprehensive cultural adventure that blends culinary delights with cultural discovery. StarCruises plans to expand this concept, potentially introducing new themes and destinations, further solidifying its position as a leader in innovative cruise experiences.
