Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest vessel, Norwegian Luna, has successfully completed its float-out, marking a crucial milestone in its construction process. This event signifies the completion of the ship’s external structure and its first contact with water, bringing it closer to its anticipated debut in spring 2026.
Following the float-out, Norwegian Luna was relocated to a floating dock, previously used by its sister ship, Norwegian Aqua, where efforts will now focus on completing the ship’s interiors and furnishings.
Norwegian Luna is designed to be 10% larger than its predecessors, Norwegian Prima and Viva, and will accommodate approximately 3,550 guests at double occupancy.
The 1,056-foot ship is set to sail Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries during its inaugural season, with each voyage including a stop at one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s private resorts.
The ship’s arrival on April 4, 2026, is expected to introduce a new chapter for the cruise line, offering guests a captivating experience with its innovative design and amenities.

In addition to Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Cruise Line has recently ordered four more ships from Fincantieri, scheduled for delivery between 2030 and 2036.
This expansion strategy underscores the cruise line’s commitment to innovation and growth, with each new ship expected to feature cutting-edge design and amenities. Norwegian Cruise Line’s long-term vision focuses on fleet expansion and maintaining its position as a leader in the cruise industry.
